It is a good idea to add a little white vinegar to your laundry once in a while. We usually do add vinegar every other month. Adding 1 cup of white vinegar will help dissolve the soap residue that detergents and soaps can build up on your cloths. This build up makes your cloths less soft and can discolor some fabrics.
When washing cotton or wool blankets add two cups to the full rinse to make them extra fluffy and soft. This also works great on towels. Remember to NEVER user vinegar with bleach.
