Clearing Clogged Sinks The Easy Way

If you sink or bathtub drain ever clog, here is an easy method to clear the clog without the use of harsh chemicals. This works best on a slow.
  1. Take about 1 cup of baking soda and sprinkle it down the drain. If the drain is really clogged and the water won't go down, use a full box of baking soda.
  2. Pour 2 cups of white vinegar down the drain. If the drain still has water in it use 4 cups of white vinegar.
  3. The vinegar and baking soda will react and start to bubble. This will help loosen the clog in the drain making the next step much easier.
  4. Plunge the drain with a plunger. Remember to slowly push down on the plunger and use more force to pull on the up stroke. Pushing too hard will compact the clog even more.
  5. Repeat if the clog won't clear in about 5 strokes.

If you can't get the clog out with this method, you have a serious clog. Call a plumber. This happened to me once when a steel wool scouring pad got down the drain. That was one for the experts!
