Protect Your Brass And Copper From Tarnish

After you have used our Homemade Brass And Copper Cleaner to clean and polish your brass or copper, spray a light layer of hairspray on it. The hairspray will keep the air from reacting with the metal, keeping it from tarnishing. You should apply a new coat every few months, sooner if the metal gets lots of weather, to keep the polished look. I use this on all of the outside fixtures including my doors locks, door knobs, door knockers, and light posts. It works great as long as you remember to reapply.
